How to Stream Super Bowl 2020 on Kodi? Stream in 4K for Free!

Are you a cord-cutter using Kodi? Learn how you can stream Super Bowl 2020 in 4K UHD for free, and which Kodi sports add-ons you should try out.

Super Bowl LIV, a.k.a. Super Bowl 54, a.k.a Super Bowl 2020 is coming up on February 2, 2020 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.  It’s the biggest television event of the year.

But what if you’re a cord-cutter using Kodi?  How can you watch the Super Bowl this year?

This question came in from a reader like you, and I thought it would be helpful to more people if I answered it in a post.  Holly’s question reads…

Hello Nate!  I hope you are doing well and had good holidays.

I understand that Fox Sports will be airing the Super Bowl this year.  I’m sure there is a cost associated with Fox, but just not sure if there is an additional cost just to view the game on other platforms with “free access” sites. Which Kodi Add-on would be best to view this on?  So far, I  have Numbers (which I am enjoying – thank you) and cCloud which is interesting.  Somehow, I also have Sports Devil, but it doesn’t seem to include US football and actually doesn’t work well pulling up anything for me?  I saw your email on Rising Tides and your note that it’s not particularly good for US.

Your thoughts, comments, and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Holly

Dear Holly,

Thanks for the question.  I’m sure it’s on that many people are asking themselves.

The television landscape has been changing a lot over the years, so sometimes it’s hard to keep up with where to go to watch things.  Not to mention the Kodi add-on landscape that has also been evolving over the years.

Well, before I get into the best sports Kodi add-ons to try and watch the Super Bowl, I wanted to point out one thing.

How to Stream Super Bowl 2020 in 4K for Free

As you mentioned, Fox is broadcasting the big game this year.  You assumed that there would be additional cost to view the game.  However, that’s not true.

Fox Sports will actually be live streaming the game for free in 4K to anyone in the US!

If you live in the US (using a US IP address), then you can go to https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/super-bowl-2020 or download the Fox Sports app (available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, Roku, FireTV, and Xbox)

If you live outside of the US, then you can use a VPN and connect to a server in the US, and then it should work.  If you have a VPN and need to buy one, I recommend IPVanish.

How to Stream Super Bowl 2020 in Kodi Add-ons

Honestly, with the above option having so many options available to stream it directly from Fox for free on so many devices, I honestly wouldn’t bother with Kodi for the Super Bowl this year.

However, many other sporting events are not nearly as open to free streaming as this one.  So, having some good Kodi sports add-ons ready to use is always a good idea.

Below is the list of sports add-on from my Kodi Add-ons Tracker.  In my opinion, my first pick would be Sportowa since I had a really good experience when I tested it out, they have a good selection of American football, and it seems to be updated frequently.  I would have Pigskin and SportsDevil as backups.

    1. I’ve had the same thing. It looks like the video downloads to the Real-Debrid cloud, but it doesn’t appear to ever do anything. I always just wrote it off thinking I’m just not patient enough to wait for it. But, maybe there’s a trick to it. If you figure it out, please let me know.
