Gaia for Kodi, Why Are You So Slow? How to Fix? Alternatives?

Gaia, a well-built and intricate the Kodi add-on with great potential, has a big downside. it's SLOW!!! Are there any settings in Gaia that will make it search and load videos faster? Find out what I tried and what some of my favorite alternatives are.

About a month ago, I posted about Gaia, raving about how well-built and intricate the Kodi add-on was.  Gaia has an enormous amount of settings, and in my tests, it was able to get more links than any other add-on.

However,… dun, dun duuuun!  After spending more time using Gaia as my primary add-on, I quickly realized the biggest downside of Gaia… it’s SLOW!!!

By slow, I mean from the time I click an episode to the time it actually starts playing the episode, it was taking at least 2 minutes on average.

My Attempts to Make Gaia Faster

Now, keep in mind, I spent a good amount of time going through the settings trying to fine-tune them to improve the speed.  Since I have Real-Debrid and usually those links work wonderfully, I tried disabling all the other sources available in Gaia.

I figured if it has to scan through less providers, it should load the links faster, right?  I did not find any success.

I found myself getting fed up with all the waiting and switching back to Neptune Rising and Incursion.  Both of those, by comparison, were loading up my videos lightning fast.

For now, I’ll be using those, but I’ve still got my eye on Gaia, because it looks like it has a lot of potential.

How to Speed Up Gaia?

If anyone has any tips or tricks on how to improve the speed of Gaia, I would love to know and share with all of you!  Let me know in the comments below.  Thanks!
