Are you frustrated by limited Xbox One or Xbox 360 apps? Do you not have access to TV channel apps or live sports content due to geo-blocking? Have you run out of content to enjoy?
SmartDNS can change that and give you access to all the content you want no matter where you live!
Read on to find out how…
What is SmartDNS? How Does it Work?
SmartDNS is a service that provides access to restricted sites and services from anywhere in the world.
Normally when you access a website, you establish a direct connection between you and the website. But SmartDNS makes use of proxy servers.
With proxy servers, you don’t directly connect. Instead, your connection is routed through the proxy server which provides access to restricted sites and services by making it seem like you’re connecting from somewhere else.
Proxies typically route all traffic through the same server, but my favorite SmartDNS service, OverPlay, takes proxy use one step further. With OverPlay SmartDNS, only the traffic to restricted sites and services will be routed through the proxy server. All of your other traffic functions normally. This means that your Internet connection speed will not slow down as a result of using SmartDNS.
This makes OverPlay SmartDNS and Xbox a natural fit. You can engage in gaming as you normally would without altering your entire experience. Using Xbox together with OverPlay will unlock endless possibilities for the device by allowing you to customize your region preferences for each applicable app.
Setup is simple and does not require any special software downloads. Just sign up for OverPlay, change a network setting on your Xbox, choose your region settings, and you’re good to go!
Uses for OverPlay + Xbox
You can use OverPlay with Xbox to expand content libraries for your favorite streaming apps. Typically, these apps would have specific, limited content libraries for each region.
If you’re in the United Kingdom, you can usually only access content on your apps specific to the United Kingdom. But when you use OverPlay SmartDNS, you can access content on your apps in the region of your choice. What makes Xbox especially useful for OverPlay SmartDNS is the fact that you can download all of your apps into one spot, making it easy to switch back and forth between them to make the most out of your user experience.
