The 13Clowns Kodi add-on is a very popular streaming add-on that is similar to many of the Exodus fork hoster scrapers that you see out there, but with some twists.
First off, you should not use this add-on if you have coulrophobia (irrational fear of clowns), because the artwork has some pretty creepy ones.
But, if you’re cool with it, it’s actually a pretty nice Kodi add-on. It is very similar to Exodus Redux which is the most popular Kodi add-on right now. It has some extra links on the main menu which bring you some editorial selections of favorites and spotlights, plus a nice shortcut to the settings screen to choose your scraper package.
Another thing I noticed with the difference in the way it displays the providers scraping progress info. Instead of the popup dialog, it shows the information in a very compact way in the notifications area.
Update About 13Clowns’ Shutdown and Resurrection
You may already be aware that this add-on went down suddenly one day, March 4, 2019. The developer behind 13Clowns got fed up with the drama that is involved in supporting such a popular Kodi streaming add-on.
Unfortunately, when he got fed up and decided the pull the plug, instead of simply deleting the project or files out of his GitHub account, he actually deleted his entire GitHub account which was unfortunately reopened immediately by someone that pushed out TVAddons affiliated add-ons to everyone who had it installed. That could have easily been malware.
A couple weeks later, the 13Clowns developer came back with a new GitHub account and apologized for not handling things well. When questioned about his identity (given he had new account names), some very well respected authorities in the Kodi add-on developer community vouched for him.
Regardless of how you view 13Clowns’ meltdown, I can’t overlook the fact that his add-on was one of the highest rated Kodi streaming add-ons and held a great rating months after it was down.
Alright, enough of that. Let’s get to the install tutorial…

That’s great news as 13 Clowns is very good and one of the most reliable add-ons.
Do you know what Malware might have been passed on and what effects it might have? And how to get rid of it?
I just did a little more research and found that it wasn’t replaced with malware. It was replaced with TVAddons affiliated add-ons. So, Indigo would have automatically installed itself if it wasn’t installed already.
Thanks Nathan, good to know.
Cannot get 13clowns it to install on my Raspberry Pi 2 with Kodi 18.2 Leila.
Tried and tried, no success with either github or file manager.
I have got it to install on my other Pi which is model 3 with Krypton 17.4 but only with the file manager method.
If you’re having trouble installing an add-on in Kodi 18, it might be a dependency issue. Try the tips here..

And they are down again? Is this temporary or permanent?
Sounded pretty permanent.
