Sure, you could probably just hook your antenna up directly to your TV, but who wants to switch their TV inputs all the time between Kodi and live TV channels? Plus, running live TV through Kodi has some added benefits of getting a TV guide right in Kodi, and you can even record live TV in Kodi to watch later.
Also, if you have your Kodi box running through an Xbox One like mine, you can snap the TV app to the side, so you can play a video game while watching the Olympics at the same time on the same TV.
