In this post, I’ll show you how to find the “Add-on Browser” screen in Kodi. That’s the place where you need to go to manage existing add-on and install new add-ons and repositories.
I’ve written a lot of tutorials showing you how to install add-ons for Kodi. But, over the years, it’s gotten more and more difficult as new versions of Kodi change the folder structures and menu labels, while the new default skin Estuary changed a lot more as opposed to the old default skin Confluence…. not to mention other custom skins out there!
It’s no wonder why I get comments all the time from people who can’t find where things are!
So, I’m going to try to start a series of posts that explain how to find certain key screens in Kodi. I hope you find it useful.
How to Find Add-on Browser in Kodi 18 Leia with Estuary Skin
This post was originally written for Kodi 17, but I’m adding this section now for Kodi 18. Version 18 actually made it a whole lot easier. There’s still the normal way to get to it (instructions below), but they added a nice shortcut right in the main Settings menu.
If you go to the Settings cog on the main screen of Kodi using the Estuary skin, then you will find a settings icon called “Add-ons”. Hit it and you’re there!
What I find super-helpful about this is that they put this Add-ons icon right next to the File Manager icon, which makes it very convenient when installing new add-ons from their file source.
How to Find Add-on Browser in Kodi 17 Krypton with Estuary Skin
- On the home screen, scroll down to Add-ons and actually click it.
- Select the open box icon at the top
- Now you’re in the Add-on browser!
How to Find Add-on Browser in Kodi 17 Krypton with Confluence or Arctic Zephyr Skin
- Select System from the main menu (all the way to the right)
- Select Add-ons
- That’s it! Easy!
Suggestion Box
Any other Kodi versions or skins need a tutorial for this? Let me know your suggestion in the comments below. Thanks!
I have managed all the repos and add-ons except for Gaia problem with dependency.
You managed to do what? What couldn’t you do with Gaia?
I cannot connect to kodi. It tells me it cannot connect to the server. What does this mean and how do I connect to the server??
What are you trying to connect to Kodi? What exactly are you trying to do?
Nathan, Thanks for your reply. I am new to this and somewhat confused since I have no one to help me. I followed your instructions on installing exodusredux about a week ago. It installed really well. When I tried to activate it the screen said that it couldn’t connect to network server. How do I connect to the network server?
Exodus Redux hasn’t been updated in a very long time (since March!) so I suggest you try another newer add-on that is working for most people and has been updated recently. You can find this information on my Kodi Add-ons Tracker at https://kinkeadtech.com/best-kodi-streaming-addons/
Hi, I’m trying to add the fusion add-on so I can get new add-ons. I am new to this so having difficulty.
I get as far as the unzip and then when you click on your fusion add-on link you are supposed to see a list that I’m supposed to click “begin here” but at this point I do not even have a list to choose that option.
What am I doing wrong and can someone please help?
I think you might be following an old post. What addon are you looking to install using the Fusion repo. Fusion of today is nothing like what it was before their lawsuit. So, chances are you don’t really need Fusion. Most people avoid it these days.
This information on Kodi is great. I need all the help I can get.
