Exodus 3.1.8 Broke Real-Debrid Configuration

Exodus Update Broke Real-Debrid; How to Fix

If you use Exodus with Real-Debrid like I do, you may have noticed that the Real-Debrid sources have disappeared this past week.  Without Real-Debrid, you’ve been left with all the regular public links that are a lot more “hit and miss” when it comes to their quality and bandwidth.

Exodus Missing Real-Debrid Sources
No Real-Debrid sources :-(

Well, it turns out that the update to Exodus 3.1.8 removed some old Debrid code and moved the configuration of Debrid Services over to the URLResolver add-on.

How to Fix Real-Debrid Configuration after Exodus 3.1.8

  • Go to the Exodus Add-on Settings
  • Go to Accounts
  • Find Debrid Service, and select the link to URLResolver Settings
  • Go to Universal Resolvers
  • Select (Re)Authorize My Account
  • Follow the instructions on the prompt by going to https://real-debrid.com/device, entering in your code, and logging into your account
  • You will then see a success message in the browser, and the prompt will disappear in Kodi showing your account as connected

Now, when you go to play the same episode, you’ll see all the Real-Debrid links… Yay!

Debrid Service is Now Universal

There’s more good news to note about this.  Since Exodus is now using the Universal Resolver settings from the URLResolver add-on, you only have to connect your Real-Debrid account once for the device, and now all of your video add-ons that support Universal Resolver (Exodus, SALTS, etc) will show Real-Debrid links.  No need to connect Real-Debrid to each add-on.

Exodus Getting Updates

While this update was a bit of a nuisance to have to reconnect Real-Debrid, I understand that it is for the best.  Moving to the Universal Resolver should be better in the long run.

I also want to make a note that I’m glad to see Exodus getting updates.  Ever since news came out about the original developer, lambda, quitting the project, people have speculated that Exodus is dead.  However, I’m glad that tvaddons.org picked it up and turned it into an open source project open to the whole community of Kodi add-on developers.

I’m optimistic about Exodus and plan to continue using it as my primary add-on for streaming TV shows and movies.

Really? And you have a subscribed Real-Debrid account? After authorizing, did your username show up? I’m not sure why that wouldn’t work.

I have 59 days left on my subscription. Where should my username show up?

Sorry, the latest way that you authorize Real-Debrid in the URLResolver add-on doesn’t show your username. It still just says “(Re)Authorize My Account”. Have you tried selecting “Reset My Authorization” and then authorize again? Also, make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked. Priority: 100
