Google Home has a new feature… it can go shopping for you. You can ask your Google Assistant to buy something and it will order it for you. Pretty cool, right?
The Google Home already does some cool stuff. It can make your life just a little bit more streamlined and convenient.
For instance, one of my favorite features so far is the ability to tell the Google Assistant to add items to your shopping list. The only time when you’re thinking about how you need to buy more of something is usually a time when you’re also scrambling to prepare a meal. It’s so convenient to just speak to the Google Home to add that item to your shopping list while you have your hands full.
Well, now the folks at Google have added another similar time-saving and convenient feature to the Google Home. It can buy stuff for you.
According to the Google Blog…
Starting today, you can shop for your everyday essentials—from paper towels to vitamins. You’ll be able to order from participating Google Express retailers, including Costco, Whole Foods Market, Walgreens, PetSmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and more than 50 other national and locally available retailers.
How to Setup Google Home to Shop
To get some help from Google Home on how to setup shopping, say to your Google Home, “Hey Google, how do I shop?” or something like “Hey Google, order batteries”.
To enable shopping using Google Home:
- Go to the Google Home app
- Navigate to “More settings”
- Scroll down to “Payments”
- Set your default credit card and delivery address
You should then be all set to shop using your Google Home!
