Xbox stream to PC on different network

Question

I was looking how to stream my home Xbox to a laptop when I'm not home (on a different network) and came across an article you wrote a while ago...

However, I'm having trouble with the 'Port Forwarding' section. I've managed to open the 5050 and 4838 ports but cannot do the same with the 49000-65000.. it says the open range cannot exceed 256. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a workaround for this?

Or even is there any other way to do this now, as it's been a while since that article was written?

It has been so long since I wrote that, I don't expect it to still be working, but I haven't heard of a new way to do it yet.
