      Hello Nathan,
I have an MXQ box which I play movies on and every so often it buffers yes probably due to my internet connection but why do it shut down my TV and then turn it back on again during play, this happens quite frequently and I’ve tried to set my video/view settings but it does not seem to do anything? Am pretty new to the KODI format so any help would be much appreciated?
      Thanks in advance,
      PeteC

I have a Coolead MX3 box. It randomly cuts out. Sometimes it turns itself back on after approx 2 seconds and sometimes it doesn\’t turn on again at all.  Strangely, it ONLY does that whilst using on my LG Smart TV. It\’s fine on my other (non smart) one.  Its been doing this for around 10 months. It\’s driving me crazy!  Please help me.

I was having the same problem with my TV turning itself off whilst using my ott box.  I seemed to have solved it by turning off the auto hdmi setting, then selecting 720 @50htz under the display tab.  Hope this helps?

This seems to have worked for me! Thanks koditvguy. In case anyone has this, you can toggle the CEC controls from Advanced Settings in your Settings on the box.

My MXQ box is doing the same thing. I\\\\\\\’m wondering if it has to do with the temperature of the box…? Maybe it gets too hot so it shuts itself down? It trys to reboot and will repeatedly show the MBox Make your Life colorful start-up and then it shuts down again and tries to reboot. If I shut if off and let it sit for awhile it will start up again and may work for a while again, until it goes thru the same routine again.
Also, I am having an issue with TV Shows pausing in the middle of playing when I haven\’t hit the pause button. I will hit ok, it will play for a bit and then it pauses again…over and over again.
Any ideas? I have been reading about firmware but I\\\\\\\’m not sure if I should try that yet.

Hello all I was here to find a solution for the different issue with my box. But reading the thread I will answer your question. I have been using box from last 5 months even I was surprised when the blank screen was occurring randomly I was I was little worried that is my box bad or is it spoiling my television. Then one day I realised that screen goes black and comes back in few microseconds the reason was when you\\\’re somebody in another room in my house used to turn on return of any other electrical devices I was getting that blank screen So don\\\’t worry it\\\’s not about your box it\\\’s not about your television it\\\’s only about electrical connections and it doesn\\\’t do any harm to any of your instrument

I have my box for 5 years until recently. Only change was added VPN and upgraded to Xfinity WiFi. Just changed the HDMI cable to see if that was the problem. Where do you find the Advanced option in Settings? Is it under another function?

I found out that the power adaptor was the main culprit. I use to hv the problem but once i change another adaptor, works normally. The box was perfectly ok

I can tell you one reason it’s crashing, I believe it’s either the box (though I highly doubt it) or the most likely problem would be all your cable fittings. You need to check all of your cable fittings and see if they are showing wear or showing burnt like marks. I can promise you if you haven’t had new cables or cable fittings in the last 2 to 3 years, that is most likely your problem. Start with your connections right from where it comes into your home, also, you might have to call your cable provider because it could also be your modem. I hope you were smart enough to carry insurance with the cable provider because it’s expensive if they have to come to your home with insurance.
Now maybe you might help me with my problem?

I have a similar problem, every 30 min video is stopped and MQX returns to the application menu (ex. KODI > menu KODI). I changed the settings CEC but it does not help, how to set it, maybe I\’m doing something wrong.

My MXQ tv box was also shutting the TV off then on again after every few minutes, so I took the advice of @koditvguy and turned on the CEC under settings and the box is working perfect now

I have a decoder plugged in on my tv on HDMI1. When I plug my MXQ 4K tv box into my tv on HDMI2 or 3 the tv box and decoder start to flicker on the tv screen. Both shows clear picture for 2 seconds then off for 2 seconds and keep on repeating the sequence. I can unplug any one and just have one connected on the tv and it works 100%. I tried to connect them to a splitter box and just have one HDMI cable into the tv but still had the same problem. A different MXQ 4K box on 2 other tv’s is doing the same thing.
Do you have any advice for me please.

First, do a hard reboot by unplugging the power cable and wait 5 minutes and plug it back in. Second, after it comes back up, go to the network settings and be sure your connected to the network. Check all your apps to be sure they are all in working order.
