Nathan KinkeadUnfortunately, a lot of Android boxes meant for Kodi have old Android OS versions and no support for updates in the future.
The only way to update them is if someone has shared instructions on the XDA Forums for updating the Android version on your exact model device. I must warn, it often takes quite a bit of learning and patience when it comes to flashing new custom Android ROMs, but it can be done.
Otherwise, I would suggest buying something newer from a company that will stand behind their products and offer OS updates. I would recommend nVidia Shield for that reason. They’re a bigger player and their Shield products are popular enough to warrant them keeping them up to date. Plus, Shields come with Android TV instead of basic Android which is really cool.
