When you go to update an add-on in Kodi, it presents the list of repos that list that add-on. Sometimes, multiple repositories list the same add-on, and sometimes they show different version numbers.
If you have auto-update enabled, then you shouldn’t need to go in and manually update add-ons, they will do that themselves based on the repos you have installed.
Now, if a repo becomes outdated and doesn’t offer the latest version of an add-on then Kodi won’t know about it. If you install the newer repo that has the latest version of the add-on, then Kodi will auto-update that add-on using the new repo because it will list a higher version number for that add-on.
