Using ADB to install Kodi to Fire TV, taking a really long time

      I’m following the instructions and using ADB Link on a Windows 10 laptop to install Kodi to a FireTV (Gen2, not the stick). I made sure the Fire TV had ADB and Debugging turned “ON”. Downloaded the APK and started “Install APK”. It is running, I can see the progress bar moving, but it’s taken over 20 minutes and its not complete yet. In the status area it says “unauthorized” so I’m concerned I did something incorrectly.

      any suggestions?

      I just updated the Kodi version on my 2nd gen Fire TV Stick using this method and it worked fine for me. Here are some things to check.
      – Make sure the IP address is correct and hasn’t changed. If so, you will need to edit the device in adbLink and fix the IP address.
      – You mentioned “ADB and Debugging”, but just making sure, did you enabled “Apps from Unknown Sources” and “ADB Debugging”?
