Hi Nathan, I have a question regarding updating Video Addons….When I set out to update an Addon on Kodi on my PC, ‘Neptune’ let’s say, I right click it, select information, and then click ‘Update’ from the menu that appears. HOWEVER, what I don’t fully understand is that clicking ‘update’ only brings up the Repo that the Addon was installed from in the first place!….So it’s not actually updating it all, just reinstalling it from the Repo……. So if I’m right, do you have to actually update the Repo the Addon came from, BEFORE actually updating the Addon itself?
I know some Repo’s auto-update, and some don’t, but even though I have ‘auto-update’ turned on for everything it’s rare that a Repo does Auto-update, usually I have to manually update it, and even then it’s hard to figure out if I have the latest update installed anyway!
Soooo, am I doing something wrong, and is there a much easier way to update an Addon?
      Many Thanks, River

When you go to update an add-on in Kodi, it presents the list of repos that list that add-on. Sometimes, multiple repositories list the same add-on, and sometimes they show different version numbers.

If you have auto-update enabled, then you shouldn’t need to go in and manually update add-ons, they will do that themselves based on the repos you have installed.

Now, if a repo becomes outdated and doesn’t offer the latest version of an add-on then Kodi won’t know about it. If you install the newer repo that has the latest version of the add-on, then Kodi will auto-update that add-on using the new repo because it will list a higher version number for that add-on.

      Hope that makes sense.
