Guest::- Hi,this is my first visit to your site and I like it! I have a KODI setup for myself and primarily stream movies. My nephew currently lives with me and he is into Gaming and watching YouTube. He does not use KODI. I informed him that a VPN is coming soon. (I think I\’m going with IPVanish.) I would like to connect the VPN to our Router when I get one My nephew says a VPN will slow everything up. I am sure he is concerned about his GAMING. Will a VPN slow the streaming and gaming down to the point one or both will suffer badly? Thanks for your time in addressing this issue. I need to keep peace in the household.

Keymaster::Hi Royal,
Thanks, I’m glad you like the site.
VPNs naturally have some impact on bandwidth since they encrypt the data and run it through a proxy server. However, with a good VPN provider like IPVanish, you have a selection of 500+ servers so they’re as fast as they can be.
Plus, if you’re going the whole-house VPN route, then you have lots of options with a FlashRouter, like having separate wifi networks, one that’s behind the VPN and another that’s not. In that case, the Xbox can be on the non-VPN network to alleviate any concerns.
