Intrusive ads on NVidia Shield setup.

Question

When I first installed my NVidia, I had no ads. Now I am getting more and more ads, cutting in on movies, Youtube, Netflix, etc.  How can I get rid of these without resorting to adblocker software? 
  Can I "clear" my NVidia and then install the newest version of Kodi, and perhaps reboot my router at the same time? Appreciate advice from anyone who has solved this problem.

It sounds like you installed an app that you shouldn't have.  Go through your installed apps and uninstall everything that looks suspicious.  If it doesn't clear it up, you can do a factory reset in the Android TV settings of the nVidia Shield.
