Hi All,
Please help. Grandkids from out of state told me to try Kodi and now I am stuck. I have installed Kodi 17.6 on my Firetv. Not sure what version as the description in Amazon does not tell me. It is for a 4 K tv I do know that. I bought in Oct of 2017. I have tried installing 17.6 and 18 deleting and I deleting because I can’t seem to get any build to work. I did see somewhere that the with the gen 3 tv needed to install with ES. Is this true? Can someone please help me? I am computer literate but this has me baffled and I have spent several weekends trying to get this to work. Now if I try to install a new build I get a dependency on error build for the past 3 builds I have tried to install. Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me.

Hi Deb,

I don’t know what the “gen 3 needed for ES” means, but your Kodi 17.6 is the latest stable version, which is perfect to use.

I don’t recommend messing with “builds”. They usually try to load it up with so many add-ons and dependencies that they tend to break, as you found out. Instead, I recommend you only install the add-ons you want to use and configure them yourself (with the help of one of my tutorials)
