Guest::Using a Fire Stick.
FAILED TO INSTALL A DEPENDENCY.
I yelled that because I don’t have access to a rocket launcher and I need to blow something up.
Tried to follow your instructions on how to fix this.
#1 Check Kodi Error Logs. Go to kodi.log file in the temp folder in your userdata folder. – No friggin idea how to find userdata folder on the firestick.
#2 Can’t Install the Dependency, URL Resolver. – Not really instructions.
#3 Deactivate or Uninstall Broken Kodi Repositories. – Disabled all but the Exodus (which I can’t disable) and the Kodi Repo. – Did nothing.
#4 – Manually install the Dependency Add-on Using a Zip File. – Sounds exciting! Downloaded the app using Downloader whereupon it threw the app into ESS file explorer, and I have absolutely no idea how to move it to any Kodi directory. I’d love info on that. Like, a lot. Preferably before I commit suicide.
#5 Server Might be Overloaded. – I’ll try again tomorrow, but let’s face it, this ain’t the issue.
#6 Try another Kodi add on. – Nothing works. Everything fails dependency. Covenant lists the URL resolver problem, but nothing else (Gaia, Evolve, Bob, Elysium) does when I try to install.
#7 Have a VPN? You bet I do! IPVanish.
#8 Still getting the Dependency Error? Fuk’n A I am. If I (and by I, I mean you) can’t figure out how to move the damn URL resolver from ESS to Kodi, then I will quit and re-install Kodi. Might purchase a flame thrower first.
Name’s Rich, and I would LOVE some help if you have the time.
Sorry for the harsh language, but I’m really pissy. -

Keymaster::Hey Rich. I can tell you are passionate about your Kodi. I know how frustrating it can be sometimes, especially when you run into this error.
Thanks for giving your feedback on the issues with my tips and where there is some confusion. I’ll try to clarify some of those points.
I would love to try and help you fix this issue.
Can you clarify which add-on you’re trying to install?
#3 is probably the most important tip to fix this issue. I’ve usually been able to fix the issue by deactivating repos and/or uninstalling add-ons. You can’t deactivate the Exodus repo because the Exodus add-on is still installed. If you uninstall the Exodus add-on, then it will let you uninstall the Exodus repo. I have a hunch that this is the issue. I believe the Exodus repo has old, bad links to dependencies like URL Resolver.
Give that a shot and let me know how it goes. Thanks!
